Sunday 27th April 2014 Cold and very wet weekend, We have been planting spring Wheat and Spring Barley in between breaking down, mostly minor but they have slowed us down. A pin came out of the lower links on the drill causing the PTO to split and smash the cross and yoke 3 days delay on order for new yoke so managed to bodge a new cross into the damaged yoke that lasted till we had just headlands to do before the rain was forecast on Friday, by which time the yoke and cross had turned up at Corfields. We have about 20 acres left to press and a main RAM on the Cultipress for some reason bent to 90 degrees can only think something has gone wrong inside it as it is one of a pair and the other is OK, parts still on order. Added to that a spring that returns the clutch pedal on the Challenger broke in 3 one evening ordered the following morning delivered the next, so lost a day. Also the CNH T7030 has been out of action since early April. The steering failed luckily not at pace. Mike from Teme Valley brought a new steering pump out but not only had the drive shaft gone on that but it had damaged the gear in the gear box, we are still waiting for the part he also thinks the orbital on the steering wheel will have to be replaced a-lot of money. Teme Valley have loaned me a Demo Tractor. We though ours was nice to drive but the Demo is another move on. With the T7030 out of action we have had to move the wiring and hydraulics onto Steve's T6050 so the second Nitrogen could be applied. David has 40 acres of spring wheat to plant Steve has 16 acres of Spring barley and I have 75 acres of Spring OSRAPE left to plant if the tack will hold together
