Damp this morning Les Thomas came as planned to do my forms for my single farm payments We had several mistakes to correct and a full page was missing all this slowed the job down, but the highlight was the buearecrats have decided that our energy crop on the setaside (which must be accompanied with a signed contract) must exactly match our setaside area which we cannot calculate until the forms are filled in. We had done the same as last year and put a whole field in, sorted the contract with our grain buyer, but that is deemed not exceptable. I phoned a very distraught lady at Glencore who promised to put new contract forms in the post for to morrow morning. Les left at lunch time with me sorting sketch maps for part fields. While this was going on Jill was sorting the end of year accounts out in the office.
After lunch David and I tried to sort out my application for a waste management exemption. The person or committee who dreamed this one up need phycological help nothing was logical the tick boxes weren't even in chronological order and it all seemed to be pointless, as I doubt whether any one will read it unless something is deemed to go wrong and we have an investigation.
